Microfiber is a specific type of very fine synthetic textile fiber.
Modern microfibers are finer than 1 denier, a unit of measure
for fiber that equals 1 gram per 9000 meters of fiber.
To better understand that, a strand of silk is roughly 1 denier.
To put it into perspective, microfiber is 1/200 the
diameter of a human hair
and 1/20 the diameter of a strand of silk. One square inch of microfiber cloth has approximately 200,000 fibers.
Microfiber is finer than silk!
Microfiber can be made of several different materials, including polyamide (nylon), polyester.
Most common microfiber towels sold for car detailing are a combination of polyester and polyamide.
The polyester provides the structure of the towel.
The introduction of polyamide to the towel increases density and absorption
And the higher the polyamise (nylon) content, the better the water absorption performance.
We have the different microfiber ratio: 70%polyester+30%polyamide, 80%polyester+20%polyamide, 85%polyester+15%polyamide.
If use it for car cleaning, Usually choose 70%polyester+30%polyamide
The yarn is 150D/144F, 150D/72F. The F means how many fibers in one yarn. such as 72F, it means in a yarn has 72 fibers.
